The Red Bean pen is adorned in a purplish red, reminiscent of the traditional Japanese azuki bean. Paired with a 50ml bottle of Manyo Azuki, a warm purple ink that reflects how azuki was traditionally consumed in savory dishes, often simply salted, during the Heian period.
This Sailor Pro Gear Slim fountain pen features a translucent purple cap, grip section, and barrel finial, complemented by an opaque light purple barrel and top finial. It is completed by rhodium-plated trim, and the top finial features a red bean.
The pen is equipped with a rhodium-plated 14k gold nib in fine, medium fine, or medium. The cap screws to open/close and can push to post onto the back of the barrel when writing. The Professional Gear Slim fountain pen comes with a Sailor proprietary converter. It also accepts proprietary Sailor ink cartridges.
